Controversy continues after the suspension on Tuesday of the Champions match between Paris Saint-Germain and Başakşehir, after the 4th referee, Romanian Sebastian Coltescu, addressed Pierre Webo with a racist term, so the players of both teams decided to leave the field of play. The Istanbul team players started a discussion with the assistant after he demanded the main referee to expel Webo for protesting, saying “kick that nigga out.” “You are a racist, we do not accept you,” Başakşehir coach Okan Buruk told him; several PSG players, including Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, also demanded an explanation from the assistant. UEFA announced today that the match will be played again with new referees. PSG and the Turkish government have expressed their support for Başakşehir and their strong condemnation of the incident.
