More than 60,000 runners participate in the Istanbul Marathon

More than 60,000 runners participated on Sunday in the 44th edition of the Istanbul Marathon between Europe and Asia, the only one in the world that runs between two continents crossing the Bosphorus Strait, which is 8 km long on its route for public becoming a festival. In the professional editions of 15 and 42 km, some 30,000 athletes from all over the world participated, the latter being won by the Kenyan runner Robert Kipkemboi in the men’s category, with a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 10 seconds. In the women’s category, the Ethiopian Sechale Dalasa won with a time of 2 hours, 25 minutes and 54 seconds.
