Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, who after winning the presidential elections in Turkey took the oath of his office on Saturday at a ceremony attended by leaders and high-level representatives of 78 countries, announced late today his new government cabinet, which includes important changes in key portfolios and in which only two ministers maintain their position.
The most important changes take place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the hitherto head of the Turkish secret service (MİT), Hakan Fidan, replaces the veteran Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, passing the hitherto presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın to succeed him at the head of the MİT; in Interior, Süleyman Soylu (who led the fight against the PKK in recent years) is replaced by Ali Yerlikaya, who was Governor of Istanbul; and in Finance, the renowned former economy minister Mehmet Şimşek returns to the government, replacing Nureddin Nebati, in a highly anticipated decision that is expected to be welcomed by the markets. Erdoğan also appoints a single vice president, Cevdet Yılmaz, who replaces Fuat Okay. Other ministers of the new government cabinet in Turkey are:

Defense Minister: Yaşar Güler (Chief of the General Staff, replaces Hulusi Akar)
Minister of Family and Social Policies: Mahinur Özdemir
Minister of Labor and Social Security: Vedat Işıkhan
Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change: Mehmet Özhaseki
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources: Alparslan Bayraktar
Minister of Health: Fahrettin Koca (remains in office)
Minister of Culture and Tourism: Mehmet Nuri Ersoy (remains in office)
Minister of Youth and Sports: Osman Aşkın Bak
Minister of National Education: Yusuf Tekin
Minister of Industry and Technology: Mehmet Fatih Kacir
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry: Ibrahim Yumaklı
Trade Minister: Ömer Bolat
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure: Abdulkadir Uraloğlu
