Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leader of the CHP, has decided to completely change the leadership of the main opposition party after the defeat suffered in the recent presidential elections in Turkey, in which Erdoğan won again with more than 52% of the vote. Kılıçdaroğlu has decided to appoint a completely new executive board (MYK), after he chaired yesterday a meeting of more than 5 hours with the central executive of the party, in which all its members submitted their resignations, and the reasons for the electoral defeat were analyzed; furthermore, it was decided to postpone the biannual CHP convention until the end of 2023.
Regarding the future of Kılıçdaroğlu, he plans to continue leading the CHP at least until the 2024 local elections; having lost his seat in the parliament to be a candidate in the presidential elections, Kılıçdaroğlu could nevertheless face several cases before courts, since he has lost his parliamentary immunity.
