A group of Turkish cyclists staged a protest in Düzce, Northwestern Turkey, lying on the asphalt and stopping traffic for a moment to ask drivers to “watch out” for them and drive more carefully, carrying banners with messages such as “Don’t touch my bike”, “My body is my bodywork” or “Look at me”. “They don’t notice us in traffic, and they don’t care much about us. That’s why there are injuries and deaths,” said the president of a local cycling association.
