The city of İzmir, the third most populous in Turkey, has suffered an incessant wave of earthquakes: up to 142 tremors below 4 degrees have been detected in the last 4 days, most of them with an epicenter in the Buca district, where last November a 4.9 degrees earthquake left 2 dead and more than 60 injured. Many still remember the 6.6 earthquake that devastated İzmir 2 years ago, causing 115 deaths and demolishing dozens of buildings.
