Turkey, traffic jams during return of holidays

Big traffic jams in Turkey due to the return of holidays

Millions of people hit the roads over the weekend in Turkey to return from the Feast of Sacrifice holidays, which this year lasted 9 days, causing kilometer-long traffic jams from popular holiday destinations and beaches in the coast of the Aegean, the Mediterranean or the Black Sea, towards big cities like Istanbul or Ankara. At least 46 people died and more than 400 were injured in traffic accidents during these long holidays. In tourist places like Bodrum the population multiplies by 5 these days; this situation has also triggered coronavirus infections, which now exceed 11,000 a day in Turkey.
