At least 11 people were detained in the Büyükçekmece district, located on the European side of Istanbul, after hosting a large DJ party in an apartment and broadcasting the images and videos via social media. It is estimated that close to 100 people attended the celebration, organised on the occasion of a birthday, in violation of the rules decreed by the Turkish government to curb the spread of coronavirus.
